Output Screens
Learn about all available screens and when to use each one.
Overview
PalcoTimer offers different screens for different needs. Each screen can be opened on a separate device and all are synchronized in real-time.
Controller
Main control screen. Manages timers, messages, and settings.
Operator
Simplified screen for operators. Focus on play/pause/next controls.
Viewer
Speaker screen. Displays timer in fullscreen.
Agenda
List of all timers with estimated times.
Moderator
Message and audience question control.
Controller
The Controller is PalcoTimer's main screen. It's where you:
- Create and edit timers
- DocsOutputs.controller.features.configureMessages
- Control playback (play, pause, stop, next, previous)
- Access links to other screens
- DocsOutputs.controller.features.configureRoom
Only authenticated users have access to the Controller. It's the only screen that requires login.
Operator
The Operator is a simplified version for those who only need to control playback. Ideal for:
- Video/audio operators
- Stage technicians
- Production assistants
Offers large Play/Pause/Stop buttons, timer navigation, quick time adjustment, and Blackout/Flash/Focus controls.
Viewer
The Viewer is the screen the speaker sees. It displays:
- Fullscreen timer with phase colors
- Timer name and speaker
- DocsOutputs.viewer.features.operatorMessages
- Progress bar
Agenda
The Agenda displays the complete timer list with estimated times. Ideal for:
- Reference monitors for the team
- Backstage information screen
- Event overview
Highlights the current timer and shows each item's progress.
Moderator
The Moderator focuses on message and question management. It allows:
- Send and hide messages quickly
- DocsOutputs.moderator.features.moderateQuestions
- View the current timer
Sharing Links
Each screen has a unique URL that can be shared. In the Controller, click "Links" to see all available URLs.
Links use the room's short code (e.g., ABC123), making sharing easy.
