Timers

Learn how to create, configure, and manage timers in PalcoTimer.

Creating a Timer

To create a new timer, access your room's Controller and click the "+ Add Timer" button in the timer list. Each room can have multiple timers organized in sequence.

Timers run in order. When a timer ends, you can manually advance to the next one or configure it to advance automatically.

Timer Fields

Each timer has the following fields:

FieldDescription
NameTimer title (e.g., "Opening", "Talk 1")
SpeakerSpeaker or responsible person's name
DurationTotal timer time (in minutes or HH:MM:SS)
NotesInternal observations (visible only in Controller)
AppearanceDisplay mode: Countdown, Count Up, Time of Day, Hidden
Color/LabelIdentification color for visual organization

Appearance Modes

The timer can be displayed in different ways in the Viewer:

Countdown (Default)
Counts down from total time to zero. Example: 05:00 → 04:59 → ... → 00:00
Count Up
Counts up from zero. Example: 00:00 → 00:01 → ... → 05:00
Time of Day (TOD)
Shows the current system clock. Example: 14:35:20
Hidden
Timer runs internally but is not shown in the Viewer. Useful for breaks.

Colors and Labels

Each timer can have a label color to facilitate visual organization. Available colors are:

red
orange
yellow
lime
green
teal
cyan
blue
indigo
purple
pink
gray

Label colors are for organization only - they don't affect the timer color in the Viewer. To customize timer colors (green, yellow, red), access Room Settings.

Alert Thresholds

Configure when the timer should change color to alert the speaker:

Green (Normal)
Timer is running normally
Yellow (Warning)
Time is running out - default: 2 minutes remaining
Red (Critical)
Few seconds remaining - default: 30 seconds
Dica
You can customize thresholds for each timer individually, or set default values in Room Settings.

Overtime Behavior

Configure what happens when the timer reaches zero:

Keep Counting
Timer continues counting negative (-00:01, -00:02, etc.)
Stop
Timer stops at 00:00 and doesn't continue
Next Timer
Automatically advances to the next timer in the list
